Students - The Team
Seeking for students at Widcombe Baptist Church to be rooted and built up in Christ. [Colossians 2:6‑7]
"Whether you are returning to Bath, or coming for the first time, we look forward to giving you a warm welcome in our services and at Grounded." Clover Todman (Pastor)
Becky has been in Bath studying Maths since 2013. Having been a keen member of Bath University Christian Union, she’s keen on helping new students settle into university life. Like Sam, she helped at the recent Children’s Holiday Club, where she led a group of 4-7 year olds with enthusiasm and smiles. Currently she endeavours to combine her Maths and Children’s Work with a PGCE Course somewhere in Bristol.
Clover has spent most his life as a lawyer but is now one of the pastors at this church. He’s married to Melissa and has two hyperactive girls who can often be found cartwheeling everywhere or climbing on Tom.
Jim grew up in Kent and has been studying English Literature and History in Wales at Aberystwyth. Hmm, anyway he has now just completed his MA in English Literature. Whilst he’s now a master of the English language, Jim has shown no improvement in his Welsh. He has remained a loyal supporter of Liverpool FC.
Skye came from China two years ago to study Interpreting and Translating at the University of Bath and now works in the financial sector in Bristol. She likes smiling. A lot.
Tom has recently graduated from his studies in Physics at the University of Bath. He is now serving as a Ministry Trainee at Widcombe. He likes drama and naively thinking that he's going to have loads of free time during his Ministry Trainee year.
Sam as been studying Computer Science in Bath for the past four years (well three years when you take into account his gander off to watch lines for a year) and has been attending Widcombe Church since October 2012. He helped at the recent Children’s Holiday Club doing primarily techy stuff and helping with the crafts and games. Whilst at the University of Bath, he has been active in the work of CU: helping man the website; generally do other technical stuff and generally being a nice guy. He has also been involved in his home church with Sunday School and, you guessed it, doing more technical stuff…
Thomas was brought up in Leicester and studied at Oxford Brookes. Before coming to Bath to join our team of Trainees, Thomas worked at the Oakes Christian Holiday Centre, fulfilling a whole variety of teaching and practical roles. He enjoys seeing over people’s heads and reaching the top shelf in supermarkets.
