Students - Year Outline
Seeking for students at Widcombe Baptist Church to be rooted and built up in Christ. [Colossians 2:6‑7]
"Whether you are returning to Bath, or coming for the first time, we look forward to giving you a warm welcome in our services and at Grounded." Clover Todman (Pastor)
You may be reading this as having got your A-level results and knowing that you’ll be coming to Bath in September as a Fresher (congratulations on that!) or it could be that you’re coming back and just want to see what we’re doing with Grounded this Autumn.
Hearing God speak through his Word is at the centre of what we do. We seek to hear the Lord’s voice as he enables us to apply his timeless truths to our circumstances. But that involves doing more than hearing sermons and reading good Christian books - it means reading and learning from God’s word for ourselves. But how do we do that? How do we know that we’re understanding it properly? How do we know how to apply it to our everyday lives? How do we stop that becoming just dry and academic and have the Bible fuel our passion? We’ll be looking at those and similar questions this autumn as we learn together “How to read the Bible with Heart and Mind”!
I look forward to meeting you/seeing you again*!!

Each year we have the privilege to go away for a weekend together, probably from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th of February 2017. This is a wonderful time for building relationships, focusing on God's Word and worshipping together. There will also be lovely food, games, chances to grow in confidence understanding the Bible for ourselves and perhaps even a dip in the sea!
We will have a number of Sunday lunches organised for students throughout the year. Some we will spend all together, some will involve 'distributing' you to a number of different families in the church and some will be with the whole church. Even when there isn’t an official student lunch we’ll still usually spend it all together in town, at the park or at someone’s house.
